In honour of the Efteling's 75th anniversary, master choreographer Ed Wubbe, known for TING!, Oscar and many other works by Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, presents an enchanting dance spectacle. With Darkride, he creates an ode to the child within you, inviting you to follow your feelings and let yourself be carried away in the World of Wonders.
An enchanting dimension
Darkride is a thrilling journey full of wonder and imagination set to the Efteling's iconic music. Led by a mysterious magician, dancers, acrobats and musicians trek through worlds where nothing is what it seems. Escape the delusion of everyday life and descend into an enchanting dimension: strange, yet familiar. A world where everything can change in an instant. Sometimes grotesque and dangerous, other times moving, poetic and dreamy. This exciting journey leads from darkness to light, past ever-changing scenes and emotions.
Follow your feelings and embrace this wonderful adventure
With beautiful music, costumes and spectacular dance, Darkride challenges you to follow your feelings and embrace the unknown. Composer René Merkelbach, known for the music for the attractions Raveleijn and Danse Macabre, adapted the Efteling's music especially for this show. Voice artist Luca Warmer adds extra colour to the music with her unique sound and takes you by the hand on this fascinating journey. You will also see the best dancers and acrobats in the Netherlands, specially brought together for this performance by Ed Wubbe.
