PLUUSJ Family Theatre Festival
PLUUSJ is the theatre festival for children aged 1.5 to 10 and their families. A day when the theatre transforms into a playful, happy world full of fantasy, colour and experience. In the auditoriums, you crawl on the tip of the 'pluusj' at various performances, and in the foyer you take part in free creative activities.
PLUUSJ will take place in 2027 on 21 February!

Retrospective PLUUSJ edition 2026
The third edition of PLUUSJ was all about the magic of theatre. And therefore put a broad smile on the faces of all visitors. The tickets were barely scanned when everyone was already juggling, juggling and balancing. Before, after and during the performances, the theatre was teeming with enthusiastic children, (grand)parents and caregivers who had no trouble finding all the fun peripheral activities such as the dressing up corner, the games, the story theatre and the craft & acting workshops. In the halls too, we heard and saw everyone sitting on the edge of their seats again, wiggling and all. On to edition four!
The 2026 programme:
- Nigel Otermans - The Time Traveller
- Jacques Vriens - Grandmother's Big Ears
- Sally Dance Company Maastricht - Signposts

- Goud Verteltheater - RAAS

Retrospective PLUUSJ edition 2025
The second edition of PLUUSJ built on the success of the first year and offered an even richer programme full of highlights that enchanted young and old alike. The youngest enjoyed VO-LU-ME by Het Laagland, an intimate and playful performance that sold out early. Older children and their families were transported into the magical world of Snow White the Musical, a surprising retelling of the classic fairy tale. De Volle Vuilkar by Schippers & VanGucht took visitors on a playful expedition in a real rubbish truck, while Van 't padje af by Opera Compact provided a cosy mix of humour and adventure. De ontsnapte Noot by Philzuid, which is normally only performed in schools, was also received with great enthusiasm in the Laagland auditorium.
The foyer was also a vibrant hub of creativity this year. From the crafts workshop and Gold Story Theatre, to games and a photobooth. The Toon Hermans Theatre turned into a lively meeting place where everyone felt welcome.
