Synopsis
Amsterdam, 1986. In the flamboyant nightclub Downtown, Ronnie, Lennart and Bas seem untouchable. Their close friendship revolves around nights of freedom, desire and excess, set against the backdrop of a city in the midst of change. But when the first rumours about AIDS begin to circulate, the atmosphere within their world slowly changes. Whilst Ronnie cautiously tries to look to the future, Lennart and Bas continue to cling to a life that seems endless — until Bas suddenly vanishes without a trace. More than thirty years later, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Ronnie unexpectedly spots Bas on the underground. He decides to organise a dinner to which Lennart is also invited – their first meeting in years.
