Synopsis
Following the death of their father, the lives of sisters Elinor and Marianne Dashwood are turned upside down. As their financial security vanishes, they must build a new life together with their mother and younger sister. Love also comes knocking, but the two sisters deal with it in very different ways.
Elinor is guided by reason and self-control, whilst the romantic Marianne follows her feelings without reservation. When both fall in love, their beliefs about love, happiness and responsibility are put to the test.
Director Georgia Oakley brings Jane Austen’s beloved novel back to the big screen, based on a screenplay by Diana Reid. Daisy Edgar-Jones and Esmé Creed-Miles play Elinor and Marianne. The cast also includes Caitríona Balfe, George MacKay, Frank Dillane, Herbert Nordrum and Fiona Shaw.
